The opportunity

This advanced trainee role supports rail or metro depots, shunting operations and controlled yards across the DACH region. It combines specialised vehicle operation with movement coordination.

What you will do

  • Operate specialised yard vehicles after training and authorisation.
  • Plan and lead controlled vehicle movements.
  • Allocate tasks to ground teams and communicate by radio.
  • Coordinate with control-room personnel.
  • Apply points, braking and securing procedures.

What you need

  • At least 18 or 19 years old, depending on the final role, with upper-secondary education.
  • German at B2 level.
  • Strong discipline, situational awareness and team-coordination skills.
  • Suitable hearing and vision and the ability to pass medical and psychological checks.
  • A clean record; yard experience or a car licence is advantageous.
